SoundEventDetector (SED) automatically detects the area at 360° and reacts to a dangerous situation within 5 seconds. This significantly reduces the response time of security forces, which on average is up to 7 minutes. Thanks to SED, the emergency call is digitized, making it faster and more accurate.

Software compatibility

SED comes with its own dedicated security software (VMS) free of charge, but is compatible with other third-party VMS for direct integration with the camera system via API (ONVIF/RestAPI) and also mechanically thanks to an integrated relay.

Pilsen receives subsidy to deploy gunshot detectors, panic screams and glass breaking

Special detectors from JALUD Embedded, which detect the sound of gunshots, panicked screams and shattering glass on the street, are helping police officers and city guards. In 2021, a pilot project to deploy and test SED gunshot detectors was implemented through the Information Technology Administration of the City of Pilsen.

Thanks to a generous subsidy from the Ministry of Interior, Pilsen has installed another portion of state-of-the-art technology that is able to detect and locate the source of loud and unusual sounds in real-time. This can include everything from gunshots and explosions to glass breaking and panic scream.

With JALUD Embedded, we implemented Sound Event Detectors as part of a proof of concept to extend security situational awareness for critical infrastructure and high-risk outpatient facilities of the University Hospital Pilsen. The detection system was tested after deployment by JALUD Embedded s.r.o. at several locations (with successful detection of actual shooting). This year we are implementing its extension to other locations. The system is integrated with the MKS into one surveillance system and the alarms have become an important source of information for the city/state police in ensuring security in the city environment. The undeniable advantage of this solution is the ability to identify and locate the incident site in real time in map documents and to send the nearest intervention unit to the scene of the incident, while monitoring the surroundings of the site with city cameras.
